3x3 Right Angle Weave Bracelet

Cost of Tuition $30.00 plus (Approx $10-$25 in materials) Approx 2hrs - 2.5hrs - Suitable for ages 14yrs +

 

You can have fun with this pattern and use any number of seed beads in each square. You can also play around with the larger bead used changing to a size 8 seed bead or a 3m crystal. Play with colours too to change the effect.

Basic Bead Embroidery Class

Cost of Tuition $60.00 plus (Approx $15-$25 in materials) Approx 4hrs (over two sessions) Suitable for ages 14yrs +

 

A great introduction to learning bead embroidery. Attatching cabochon (flat backed bead with no holes) to bead backing, Forming a bezel around the stone.  Creating the bead embroidery, attaching work to ultra suede backing and finishing.  This is a class that is for two sessions on different days)You will be hooked and great relaxation. NB:The photo is just an example of how Bead Embroidery can be - you will not be making this whole bracelet.

Basic Spiral Stitch Bracelet

Cost of Tuition is $30.00 Plus ($6-$15 in materials) Approx 2hrs

Suitable for ages 14yrs + 

 

A great Beginners class as works up very quickly and you can play around making it with just seed beads or a mixture of crystals, pearls and seed beads depending on your budget and skill level. Can be adapted into a bracelet or a necklace and adding other beads can change the look completely.

Bezelled Rivoli Class

Cost of Tuition is $30.00 Plus ($8-$15 in materials) Approx 2hrs

Suitable for ages 14yrs + (note there will be more than enough seed beads in packets to make several of these or to use for other projects) 

 

Rivolis are one of Swarovski's most gorgeous crystal beads. With their pointed back and no hole it can be a bit tricky to figure out the best way to encase it in beads in order to link to more materials. This class will teach you step by step in person the simplest way to bezel a Rivoli stone using Tubular Peyote Stitch. Learn how to do this and you can make all sorts of creations and team it up with a rope made from one of the other classes on offer here at Serendipity Beads.  (NB - it is beneficial but not essential to have an understanding of Peytoe stitch for this class)

Cellini Spiral Bracelet (Twisted Peyote)

Cost of Tuition is $30.00 (plus materials of $12 - $20) Time Approx 2hrs - suitable for ages 14yrs+

 

A great version of Tubular Peyote using different size seed beads to create a ruffle effect. You can go really chunky or not so big with this stitch and it is loads of fun.

 

If you are learning it is easier to learn Tubular Peyote first and then move on to this one and making your first bracelet in a similar colour scheme first is a little easier. But of course if you wish to go all out on colour - please do! In saying this if you wish to give it a go no experience is necessary.

Chenille Herringbone Bracelet

Cost of Tuition is $30.00 (plus materials of $6 - $10) Time Approx 2hrs - Suitable for ages 14yrs +

This is a relatively easy and quick bracelet to make up. Great for a 2nd or 3rd poject for beginners once you have tried the basic Peyote ring. Chenille stitch also offers you a chance to learn a little bit of  Herringbone (Ndeble) stitch. It is a very pretty stitch. Uses size 8 or size 11 seed beads and colour ideas are endless. Once you have mastered this, experiment with different size beads throughout. (Sample photo shows size 8 beads or size 11 beaded bracelets.

Flat Peyote Stitched Bracelet

An expansion of Flat Peyote stitched rings instead of zipping up the ring can turn it in to a braclet and can actually be as wide as you like.

Flat Peyote Stitched Rings

Cost of Tuition is $30.00 Plus ($6-$10 in materials) Approx 2hrs - Suitable for ages 14yrs +

 

Beginner: A fun way to be introduced to the world of Peyote (pay-oh-tee) stitching. This is an even count flat Peyote stitched ring which depending on colours used and where each different coloured bead is placed can create a plethora of patterns and designs. You will be taught the stitch and how to zip up the ends to form a ring where you cannot see the join. Depending on size and width of your desired ring you may have time to make a few. Class will take approximately 1.5 - 2hrs depending on number in class. I chose this as a beginner class as it doesn't use as many beads and you don't need to worry about extra materials like shank buttons.

Herringbone (Ndebele Class)

Cost of Tuition $30.00 plus (Approx $10-$15 in materials) Approx 2hrs - 2.5hrs - Suitable for ages 14yrs +

 Another stitch to add to your repertoire and can be used in so many ways. Works up relatively fast especially if using larger beads, as two beads are picked up in each stitch. In the class you will be learning with size 8 seed beads but all manner of sizes and shapes can be used for this. Similar to twisted herringbone but this is actually the precurser so gives an altogether different look. A super easy stitch once you get past the tricky beginning.

Peyote Button or Pendant Class

Cost of Tuition $30.00 plus (Approx $3-$10 in materials) Approx 2hrs - suitable for ages 14yrs +

 

A knowlege of Tubular or Flat Peyote helps for this pattern although it is sitll relatively simple to learn as a beginner also. Using the smallest beads these make perfect buttons to match your bracelet or necklace project. Join several together to make a bracelet, can be made into earrings, or used as a pendant with the larger sized beads. You will want to make many.

Right Angle Weave Bracelet (RAW)

Cost of Tuition $30.00 plus (Approx $10-$25 in materials) Approx 2hrs - suitable for ages 14yrs +

 

This is something that can be made with either one or two needles. RAW or Right Angle Weave can lead in to CRAW Cubic Right Angle Weave and PRAW Prismatic Right Angle Weave which are super fun albeit a lot more advanced. Understanding basic RAW first is imperative before tackling the other two and is an extremely versatile stitch.

Tubular Netted Bracelet

Cost of Tuition is $30.00 Plus ($10-$30 in materials) Approx 2hrs

Suitable for ages 14yrs +

 

Suitable for a Beginner: This is a very easy form of netting using Japanese Seed Beads in sizes 6 (or 4mm Swarovski Pearls), 11 and 15.  Netting stitch works up very quickly which is great if you are short on time. This looks like it is a very tricky bracelet to make but it is actually very simple. I usually suggest this as the 2nd stitch to learn only because it costs quite a lot more in materials plus you need to have a shank button.

Tubular Peyote Stitched Bracelet

Cost of Tuition $30.00 plus (Approx $10-$20 in materials) Approx 2hrs 

Suitable for ages 1yrs +

 

Tubular Peyote stitch is a great first stitch to learn and is fast to make up. It is a bit like weaving and opens up a whole new world in beading. Again once you learn either Tubular or Flat Peyote you can go on to so many other Peyote type stitches. The beaded button and bezeling a Rivoli use Tubular Peyote.

Twisted HerringBone (Ndebele) Bracelet

Cost of Tuition is $30.00 Plus ($8-$15 in materials) Approx 2hrs

Suitable for ages 14yrs + 

  

Twisted Herringbone (Ndebele) is as it suggests a spiral version of basic Herringbone stitch. It is not a prerequisite to have learned the basic version before this one (although it does help understand it), and is simple to learn and relatively quick to make up. Changing the colours you use can change the look of this pattern quite considerably.
